Adam’s Walk -- Harbord Village, Huron Sussex and the University of Toronto

Time: 11:30am – 1:30pm
Location: Bloor Street and Borden Street (just outside the Green P Parking Lot , south of Bloor)
This walk is the second in a series of neighbourhood tours that Councillor Vaughan is hosting throughout Ward 20 this spring and summer.
Join your local Councillor on a walking tour of the neighbourhoods north of College and south of Bloor in Ward 20. Explore the laneways and built-form heritage that give Harbord Village its character, and learn how residents are working together to care for the urban forest, improve pedestrian and cycling infrastructure and increase the energy efficiency of their homes.
Explore the unique neighbourhood of Huron Sussex and hear how local residents are working with the University of Toronto to ensure that changes to its campus benefit students and area residents alike.

Louie Laki Lane -- unveiling ceremony

Councillor Adam Vaughan & the City of Toronto invite you to the unveiling of:

Location: At the north end of Louie Laki Lane (just south of Harbord Street between Major and Robert Streets)
Louie Laki arrived in Toronto from Slovenia in 1957 and lived on Major street from 1960 until his death in 2002. Well-known in the neighbourhood for his commitment to his community and generous, hospitable nature, Louie Laki exemplified the tremendous contribution that immigrants have made to Toronto.
Please join us to celebrate the naming of this laneway – the first of many unnamed lanes in Harbord Village that will soon receive a name with the help of the Harbord Village Residents’ Association.

Bloor Street Festival, Sunday, June 13 – 12-6pm

From Spadina to Bathurst, the annual Bloor Festival will feature street food, crafts, live music, children’s games and more. Take a moment to enjoy the festivities and to support the businesses on our northern flank.

Harbord Village Tree Walk, Sun. June 13, 1-3 pm, rain or shine

Meet at northwest corner Major and College, walk about 8 blocks with frequent stops for commentary, end at Kensington Gardens (25 Brunswick) for refreshments.
Join your neighbours and other interested Toronto residents to celebrate the trees of Harbord Village. With Professor Andy Kenney and guides from LEAF, observe some magnificent specimens of old and interesting trees and learn how the Neighbourwoods inventory has been applied to renew and care for our urban forest.
