Greetings! On this beautiful sunny day, I want to draw your attention to 3 important events this coming Tuesday evening, and 5 more in the weeks to come………….

Tuesday, May 18th
2pm: Free Compost, Margaret Fairley Parkette, Brunswick and Ulster
Get it while it lasts, and it never lasts long!

6-7:30pm: Public Meeting about 245 College Street, Lillian Smith Library, 239 College Street

Join Councillor Vaughan to hear details and provide feedback about a proposed development at 245 College Street. This site is on the south side of College, east of Spadina, and is the former home of the UofT Press. The developer proposes to build private student housing up to 41 stories in height. Our Councillor has urged the proponents to significantly reduce the height of their building, both to reduce its impact on its neighbours and to avoid creating a precedent for similar-sized buildings moving west of Spadina. If you plan to attend, RSVP at Councillor_Vaughan@toronto.ca or 416-392-4044.

7-9pm: HVRA’s Spring Meeting, Kensington Gardens, 25 Brunswick Avenue

Meet your neighbours, renew your membership, voice your concerns, hear about HVRA’s latest projects, and enjoy the following 3 special presentations: (1) Carolyn Moss on residential green roofs, (2) Richard Murphy on how to spot and deal with termites, and (3) Councillor Adam Vaughan. Refreshments will be served!

Beyond this are 5 other noteworthy events…………
