HVRA's Treeing the Village committee is offering $50 scholarships to the first two members who are interested in taking the Tree Tenders Training course, as described below.

If interested, contact Tim Grant at tim@greenteacher.com, or by phone at 416-960-1244. You will be asked to pay the $50 registration, attend the course and then submit your registration receipt to HVRA for reimbursement.

Tree Tenders Training 4 day course

Toronto's Trees need your help. More than twenty percent of our urban forest canopy has been lost to development, exotic pests, pollution and climate change in the past decade. Tree Tenders Training helps citizens become volunteers with the skills and knowledge to enact positive, immediate change for the urban forest in their own neighbourhood. Be a Tree Tender. Be part of the urban forest citizen movement.

Note: Completion of the Tree Tenders course qualifies you to take further training with LEAF and become involved in on-the-ground stewardship activities with LEAF and other urban forestry organizations.

Location: Riverdale Library, 370 Broadview Ave. Located at the corner of Broadview Ave and Gerrard St East, Toronto
Dates and Time (please note you must attend each session in order to complete training):
Tuesday September 15th: 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Tuesday September 22nd: 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Tuesday September 29th: 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Saturday October 3rd: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
