2: News from HERO
Fresh off the presses: To date 56 households have signed up for the HVRA HERO (Hero Home Energy Retrofit Opportunity) project which is designed to make our homes more energy efficient and less costly to run. The first data analysis on home energy assessments done by Carson-Dunlop clearly establishes the biggest energy and cost savings for our houses is sealing all those little drafts around windows, window trim,water pipes, baseboards, electric plugs. So getting our households more energy tight, could cost as little as $500, would attract government rebates and reduce your energy bills by as much as 10%.
