Hello HVRA Members,

HVRA’s Home Energy Retrofit Opportunity (HERO) can help make your home more energy efficient and more comfortable! The HERO project will provide reduced-cost energy assessments on 200 Harbord Village homes, and organize bulk-buy retrofits to enhance conservation and save money on energy bills.

· Energy savings!
· Money savings!
· Increased comfort!
· Reduced environmental impact!

Please join us at our information meeting:

Thursday April 16, 2009, 7:30-9:00 pm
Kensington Gardens, 25 Brunswick Avenue

Meet HERO energy auditors Carson Dunlop to learn about HERO’s home energy assessments and group purchase of home upgrades. You will hear information on the HERO project, as well as tips on making your home more energy efficient.

Please invite your neighbours to come along so we can all get involved in making Harbord Village more energy efficient.

A HERO home energy assessment qualifies you for federal and provincial (ecoENERGY) grants for heating, cooling, ventilation, insulation, and water conservation. HVRA’s HERO project will soon arrange bulk purchase prices for upgrading services and materials. Home upgrades qualify for Federal tax credits, too!

After your home energy assessment you may find that for a one-time outlay of as little as $90—on weather stripping and caulking materials—you can save double or triple that amount in cooling and heating costs PER YEAR. With an energy assessment, you’ll know where to point your caulking gun, and how you can get big energy savings and create a more comfortable home. Help make Harbord Village efficient and green
