Dear HVRA member,

Sometime during the past week, you should have received a blue flyer in your mail box describing our $20 backyard tree promotion. If you have not received or seen our flyer, you can find even more information about this and our other 2008 tree projects at HVRA's website, located at http://www.harbordvillage.com/trees.

HVRA's Treeing the Village committee needs your help. If you have neighbours without a backyard tree, please encourage them to take advantage of this inexpensive option. Many of our non-English-speaking neighbours may not be aware that the City has provided HVRA with $25,000 in funding for backyard trees. We want everyone to be able to take advantage of this opportunity.

If you or they are interested in obtaining one of the many available species of trees from us this spring, the deadline for signing up is May 1st. The trees will arrive from the nursery on Friday May 30th, and volunteers will be available to dig the holes and plant the backyard trees over the following two days of that weekend.

If your backyard or theirs is not yet ready for a tree this spring, don't worry. We are organizing a second round of tree planting for the last weekend in September. We anticipate that many more neighbours will be signing up after May 1st to receive a backyard tree from us this Fall.
